BlueSG’s mobile application on iOS and Android devices looks dated and littered with inconsistencies throughout. This led to inefficiencies when this designer was trying to sign up for the app. A lack of transparency is also a problem, as it was not mentioned upfront that the only way to cancel the subscription was to write in to their customer support.

Solution

To redesign the BlueSG mobile app with a focus on a consistent and minimalistic UI, transparency and unambiguous information hierarchy ensuring users will always be able to complete their tasks in the most efficient manner.

Results

A task-based usability test was conducted with 1 user with 5 of the most common tasks a BlueSG user would go through when using the app. The purpose of this test was to understand if the redesigned app has solved the issues identified by this designer. Based on the results, it seems that the redesigned app did solve the issues that where highlighted earlier
